Rick Price
Central District Councilor
School: University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Major: Political Science
Rick Price serves as the Central District Councilor for the North Carolina Student Legislature. In this role, he works to help and connect delegations across the Central region while promoting growth, leadership development, and collaboration among other college students.
Rick currently works as a resident advisor for Greek Village at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, with previous occupations in canvassing and non-profit work, providing youth with opportunities in leadership through summer camp scholarships. He also currently serves as the Interim Democratic caucus chairperson and formerly served as a delegation chairperson for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
At the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, he majors in Political Science with a concentration in urban studies, with a particular interest in housing and infrastructure policy, reflected in his work during previous legislative years. He hopes to take his efforts into local government as an urban planner or in the economic development sector.
Fun fact: Rick had once memorized the formula to solve a Rubik's Cube in under a minute during the COVID pandemic, but has since lost the ability to do so.
Quote about NCSL:
“The North Carolina Student Legislature gave me hope that a generation of politically engaged students can achieve real change. Each delegate brings their perspective on how society should be, and through rigorous debate, these students don't just talk—they clarify what they truly believe and map out actionable steps to solve pressing issues and create a better future”
